John Ray & Sons Partners with Vennard's Service Center For New PitStop Location

TROY, NY - John Ray & Sons has joined with Vennard’s Service Center at 435 North Pearl Street in Albany to open a new PitStop gas station.
The two, family-owned, third-generation businesses have partnered to make Vennard’s the 10th John Ray & Sons’ PitStop-branded station in the Capital Region.
Celebrating 60 years in business, Vennard’s was established in 1950 by Ned Sano. For many years, Vennard’s was operated by Mickey Vennard and is currently managed by his son, Mike Vennard. Vennard’s is known for its quality service. John Ray & Sons was established in 1904 and is owned and operated by the third generation of the family, Ken Ray.
“We decided to partner with John Ray & Sons,” Mr. Vennard said, “because Ken does business the way my grandfather and father did -- when a handshake meant something. John Ray & Sons is a highly respected business,” he said.
Vennard's has been at its North Pearl Street location since 1963. As a PitStop station, John Ray & Sons will supply Vennard’s with regular and premium gas and on-road diesel.
“It’s great to have this family business as part of our family of fueling stations,” Mr. Ray said. He noted that PitStop locations are known for their convenience, service and high-quality fuel products.
John Ray & Sons PitStop locations set their own hours and decide on which products they wish to provide. Offerings include high-performance gasoline, diesel, biodiesel and K1 kerosene.
Other PitStop stations include one at John Ray & Sons’ headquarters in Troy as well as stations in Amsterdam, Charlton, Cleverdale/Lake George, Lansingburgh, Schoharie, and 24-hour automated fueling stations in New Lebanon and Rotterdam.
